The traditional oval Maserati grille takes pride of place: in the center is the classic red-pronged Trident, a distinct detail which is featured only on Maserati’s sportiest models.
The GranTurismo Sport’s innovative front styling is also fully functional whose deisgn optimizes air flow for engine and brake cooling. The standard xenon headlamps are completely redesigned, now incorporating bright LED technology for daytime running light (DRL) operation improving visability and appearance. The Sport is also equipped with standard front and rear parking sensors. Aggressive, dark-tinted rear taillamps improve the visibility and safety provided by 96 LED lights, giving the GranTurismo Sport an even more dynamic look.
Standard 20” Astro Design alloy wheels add to the overall sport appearance while concealing standard high performance drilled and slotted rotors and Brembo brake calipersnow available in an array of colors – including standard red to the new optional blue anodized finish.

Maserati is a marque with a unique reputation in motorsport that has consistently managed to produce distinctive motorcars with innovative, high-performing engines combined with chassis with ideal balance – each essential parts of Maserati’s DNA.
The upgraded 4.7 liter, V-8 engine of the GranTurismo Sport provides the smooth performance needed for everyday use, while revealing an unmistakable sporting character on the open road. The revised powerplant benefits from a special Diamond Like Coating (DLC) on the camshaft lobes and tappets which substantially reduces internal engine friction. The car boasts wet sump lubrication with special fluid dynamics optimised to reduce loading to deliver power smoothly up to 454 bhp. Peak torque has been increased to 384 ft-lb, with most of it on tap throughout the rev range to ensure super-fast gear changes.
The engine responds immediately to accelerator pedal movement and it adapts to modify how it responds based on driving conditions: from controlled application in urban settings, to powerful and dynamic performance on the open road. It all comes down to the driver: if the ‘Sport’ button is activated, the suspension and gear changes are set to maximum performance calibrations, the exhaust valves open up and the engine takes on an aggressive, deep and exciting tone that symbolizes Maserati’s competitive nature. The engine makes the daily experience of driving the GranTurismo Sport a memorable one.
The transmission on the GranTurismo Sport is a proven ZF six-speed automatic design. It is equipped with MC Auto Shift software, resulting in smoother and much quicker gear changes (200 ms) over the previous transmission.
The Skyhook system
The double wishbone suspension on the GranTurismo Sport is controlled by the Sport Skyhook system that uses new variable dampers that continually adjust damping Thus the driving experience becomes more responsive while improving comfort levels for all passengers. Pushing the ‘Sport’ button alters the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) and the car becomes more precise and reactive while continuing to absorb bumps in the road.
The brakes on the new GranTurismo Sport make the most of the Brembo dual-cast technology which is combined with six-piston monoblock callipers up front and four-piston calipers in the rear. The drilled and slotted rotors are crafted from cast iron and aluminium. This 20% weight reduction provides a more comfortable ride, and reduces unsprung weight and reduces wear. The newly-available blue anodized brake calipers are new and designed to highlight the car’s sporty character.

Maserati has developed an exclusive ”MC Sport Line” which hails from Maserati’s racing heritage. MC Sport Line is designed to enhance the driving pleasure without compromise.
MC Sport Line offers several carbon fiber exterior trim upgrades for the GranTurismo Sport. Front & rear spoilers, rear view mirror covers, door handles, rear bumper aerodynamic fins, tailpipes and side skirts are just a few carbon fiber elements that MC Sport Line has to offer.
MC Sport Line continues inside the vehicle with carbon fiber door sills, door panels, dashboard trim, and gearshift knob. Completing the MC Sportline interior are an available carbon fiber steering wheel and shift paddles.
For the most demanding drivers, the handling of the GranTurismo Sport can be improved one step further with MC Single Rate Suspension (MCH1). MCH1 includes stiffer springs defined by their red color, MC sport dampers which allow the GranTurismo Sport to sit almost ½ inch lower.
The GranTurismo Sport offers a specially-programmed system to manage gear shifts. MC Auto Shift features: gear-holding in manual mode, faster 200-millisecond shift times, double-declutch downshifts and a digital rpm indicator.
Completing the package is a sport exhaust system with free-flowing bypass valves producing a deep engine note that is pure Maserati.
The Online Car Configurator
Maserati provides an excellent online tool for configuring even the tiniest details on the GranTurismo. The Car Configurator gives the client the opportunity to create their ideal car online and to see the combination chosen, including the color of the leather and materials, the finish of the headlining, the stitching and the carpets.
The Maserati Atelier
Visitors to the Modena, Italy headquarters of Maserati can make the most of expert help in creating their dream car by using the Atelier Maserati, just like they would for a suit styled by a master tailor.
The Atelier provides examples of the available options for the interior thanks to a special table showing color samples of the leathers, the carpets, the stitching and the finishes. Clients can also browse colors for the interior and exterior and see and even feel for themselves how the different materials combine with one another, allowing them to check the options selected on the Car Configurator.
Safety is at the forefront of Maserati engineers’ minds while developing the GranTurismo Sport. The result is a vehicle that employs the latest safety technology offered.
In terms of active safety, the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) was designed to maintain the car’s overall stability under a varienty of conditions. This system works in harmony with ASR traction control and ABS anti-lock brakes, to stop the wheels from locking under hard braking, enhanced by hydraulic braking assistance (HBA). The high torque delivered by the engine is delivered under careful control.
The front lights with integrated washers boast xenon technology that provides superb visibility at night. The Day Time Running Light system illuminates a series of LEDs during the day to make the car easy to spot. A sensor automatically activates the headlights to complete the GranTurismo Sport’s innovative lighting package.
The Granturismo Sport also benefits from new front parking sensors that come standard. The sensors can identify the most hazardous objects preventing the front bumper from costly damage.
The car is also fitted with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that monitors and displays individual tire pressures. If this falls below optimal pressure, a warning light on the instrument panel alerts the driver.
A series of airbags are a fundamental element in passive safety: on the GranTurismo Sport these are improved with dual-stage technology up front and new generation airbags for passengers. Extensive research was carried out to integrate the side bags into the new one piece sport seats. Together with the curtain airbags, the new side airbags provide excellent crash protection.
