Overachieving four—the 2.4L GDI
Standard on the Santa Fe Sport, this 2.4L 4-cylinder engine is a high-tech tour de force. Its Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) allows each engine intake and exhaust valve to be controlled independently, minimizing emissions and offering substantial gains in power. Paired with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), they create optimal air intake and enhance efficiency, power and torque.
This 2.0L GDI 4-cylinder engine features a twin-scroll turbo that pumps out plenty of horsepower and torque on demand while delivering impressive fuel economy. Its highly advanced design helps improve combustion efficiency, and provide low-engine-speed efficiency.
V6 Power—seats for up to 7
Feeling right at home as the standard engine in the extended-wheelbase 6 or 7-passenger Santa Fe, the 3.3L V6 provides potent response. Santa Fe Sport provides a full complement of seven airbags, which includes a driver’s knee airbag that helps prevent the driver from submarining under the dash in an accident. This added level of safety is one that is usually found on more expensive premium vehicles.
Electronic Stability Control
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) sensors measure the difference between a driver’s intended path—when a turn is less or more than intended—and applies appropriate braking force to individual wheels to help regain control. ESC also includes a Traction Control System (TCS), which reduces wheelspin when accelerating.
Traction Control System
By reducing wheelspin in various adverse traction conditions, including inclement weather, Traction Control System (TCS) gives more stable and predictable acceleration characteristics for a more confident, controlled driving experience.
Anti-lock Braking System
Emergency braking maneuvers can cause a vehicle’s wheels to lock up and skid, resulting in a loss of steering control exactly when you need it most. ABS helps prevent the possibility of wheel lockup under hard braking, and rapidly pulses the brakes to help you retain steering control as you come to a stop.
Sophisticated All Wheel Drive
The available Intelligent Active All Wheel Drive (AWD) and Active Cornering Control AWD give drivers of the AWD Santa Fe improved stability in corners, plus help preventing overheating while trailer towing and during hill climbs.
Hillstart Assist Control
This forward-looking standard feature is designed to minimize backward rolling when starting from a stop on steep hills. It’s a thoughtful solution that provides added safety and confidence to a tricky driving situation.
