Three-beam projector-style halogen headlights, front fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels on GLS, 18-inch Hypersilver alloy wheels on LIMITED, and convenient roof rack side rails. About the only thing you won’t find is a substantial markup.
Impress seven on the inside. Everyone on the outside.
The three-beam projector-style halogen headlights and sculpted hoodline set the tone for the modern exterior. Wide-stance 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels (18-inch Hypersilver alloy on LIMITED), convenient roof rack side rails, and heated power side mirrors with turn-signal indicators and approach lights complement an exterior design that’s as stylish as it is functional.
Not even the windshield of the Veracruz has escaped the attention of our engineers. Made from solar control glass that repels UV radiation, it helps keep the interior cooler on brutal sun-baked days, and reduces the need for air conditioning.
Early prototypes of the Veracruz not only had to please the eye, they had to withstand test drives of over 100,000 miles, through some of the ugliest conditions on the planet. The vehicles were disassembled and parts were inspected under a microscope, looking for insights that could enhance quality and reliability. The result is a vehicle worthy of a 100,000-mile warranty.
Minimal variations in body panel gaps are any car manufacturer’s true sign of build quality. Each Veracruz is scanned with lasers calibrated to detect variances of less than a millimeter. If gaps are too wide—thus causing excessive wind noise—or there are any other aberrations in body alignment, we’ll find and fix them.
Room for seven. Power front seats. An available premium Infinity® audio system. And with the 2nd- and 3rd-row seats folded down, it’s got more total cargo space than the Mercedes GL450. The Veracruz goes from serious challenger to value benchmark among premium crossover vehicles.
Step up to the LIMITED for 18-inch 5-spoke Hypersilver alloy wheels, a power tilt-and-slide glass sunroof, a convenient one-touch power tailgate, plush leather seating surfaces, and heated seats in both the first and second rows. The Infinity® audio system, complete with a 6-disc CD changer, subwoofer, and eight Infinity speakers, will keep you tapping time on the power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, while dual front automatic temperature controls help maintain driver/co-pilot harmony.
Infinity 10-speaker Stereo
When you choose the LIMITED with the Alpine navigation system (available later this year), you get the audiophile-quality, 10-speaker, 605-watt Infinity audio system. Each speaker has titanium-laminated drivers, which reduce distortion to a nearly unmeasurable level and reproduce sound with faithful fidelit
The interior is as purposeful as it is sophisticated. A reinforced dash panel, four layers of insulation underneath the carpeting, and electronic motor mounts effectively minimize engine noise and vibration in the cabin. The combination of these and other sound dampening elements help make the Veracruz a very quiet, refined ride.
3.8-liter all-aluminum V6 engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® and a suspension system that has been tuned for comfort and quiet. Indulge in a little power and luxury
The advanced 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® allows the driver to change gears on demand. Adaptive, it also adjusts to your particular driving habits. So when you accelerate rapidly, the transmission takes note and moves the shift points upward to maximize power and acceleration. It also includes preset shift patterns for specific conditions, such as uphill, inclement weather or performance driving.
During normal driving, a vehicle’s frame tends to twist back and forth. If it flexes too much, or lacks torsional rigidity, the ride can become jarring and noisy. The high tensile steel unibody frame delivers a smooth, quiet ride, and more precise handling, steering and driving comfort.
